Let me ask you something. Are you tired?
Does your back hurt?
Do you feel frazzled and irritable?
I felt that way too. Even after I had coffee and breakfast, I was tired and testy. But I’ve been on a nutritional quest to find the holy grail of supplements. I’ve read holistic articles, took advice from my family, and googled what the A-list stars eat. Here’s what works for me.
Take a look at my wellness arsenal! You can use these products individually; however, I use them together and find they are compatible with my body. You should try one product first on its own.
1. Maca Powder
It’s the #1 staple in my arsenal. It’s an Incan superfood and grows high in the mountains of Peru and Bolivia.
Maca replenishes the body with essential nutrients and amino acids. It’s an adaptogen that means it helps our bodies adjust to stressful times. An article written by Dr. Oz’s medical team says “if you’re dragging through the day Maca could be the best pick-me-up-boost you’ve been waiting for.”
Once I started taking maca I felt:
- A noticeable increase in energy
- A cheerful disposition
- No irritability
- Decrease in muscle ache and back pain
- Increased concentration and endurance
Miranda Kerr uses maca powder, too! I discovered the product by watching this video.
Maca has a bitter taste, so the best way to consume is by mixing it. Kimberly Snyder, nutritionist, and author of, The Beauty Detox Solution, has a delicious Chocolate Yellow Maca Smoothie.
- 8 ounces almond milk
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 tablespoons carob powder
- 1 tablespoon yellow maca powder
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
As with all new supplements, use with caution. If you are pregnant, lactating or allergic to maca or similar vegetables be sure to consult your doctor before taking.
Ah yes, are you ready to kick some butt at work today? As if maca wasn’t enough for you, I’ve got SuperBeets. Manufactured by HumanN, my mom introduced me to this product.
Formulated from high-quality beets; one teaspoon is equivalent to 3 beets! Beets help our body produce Nitric Oxide, a molecule that communicates with our cardiovascular and circulatory system.
- Regulates blood pressure
- Increases circulation in the body
- Assists in heart health
“Nitric Oxide’s effects on cardiovascular systems was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1998 and named Molecule of the Year in 1992.”
How does all this help with energy? Nitric Oxide affects energy because when our blood carries oxygen to our muscles, our body can adequately deliver nutrients and remove toxins. Increased energy is a byproduct of this.
How can SuperBeets help you? Well when I take it I:
- Have an increase in natural energy; no jitters!
- Am present and clear-headed
- Have increased concentration
- Feel ready to tackle my workload
- Have more stamina
Mix one scoop in 4-6oz of cold water and gulp it down. Or you can whip it into a smoothie, like this work of art from foodbymaria.
Smoothie: Base Layer
- 1 cup frozen raspberries
- 1 mango
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp SuperBeets
- Dash of coconut milk
Smoothie: Top Layer
- ¼ of the above mixture
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 tsp SuperBeets
- Dash of Coconut milk
- Topped with a piece of Dark Chocolate, and a strawberry
I mix SuperBeets with maca in the morning for a quick jump-start. I take my second scoop of SuperBeets with water after I hit the after-lunch slump. I credit my ability to have a very productive day to SuperBeets.

Lastly in my wellness arsenal: GOOP Vitamins. In my opinion, they’re the highest quality vitamins I could find.
