My name is Gabriella and I’m a 28-year-old girl originally from Delaware now living in Seattle. I worked for corporations for the past 6 years. And I really wanted to be the President of a company someday.
But, office life was tougher than I expected. The work wasn’t hard but it was the people who I had trouble with.
While I was busy with my goal of making it to the top, there were others who criticized me, or the environment was too toxic that I was actually miserable.
Struggling to find my place in the world, I went from job to job hoping I’d find that magical office environment where I fit perfectly.
I started Taupe Shoes because I always like writing and wanted to find other women who were like me. Who cried to their mom after a tough day of work, who quit their job and walked home in the rain because they saw no other way.
When unwarranted, the negative behaviors of others have an effect on us. I saw first hand how a little positivity, support, and clarity can be like a ray of sunshine in the darkest days.
Taupe Shoes provides a place for you. The girl who was just embarrassed by a co-worker or the girl who wasn’t invited to the office meeting that everyone else was. This is a place to understand the root of workplace dilemmas and to understand how-to conquer them.
P.S: I like to laugh a little too. I’m not always this sappy.
