The course Making Cents of Affiliate Marketing may be helpful to you. Especially, if you want to learn how to make an income from your website.
When I ran with the idea of an online business, I don’t think I realized that I was literally starting something from scratch. It’s a lot of consistent work, time and energy.
It’s not as easy as buying a domain and writing an article. That’s for sure.
So, when a course comes along with good reviews, I check it out and get a feel for its effectiveness.
Side note: I really dislike the term “blog” and “blogging” and “blogger.” Therefore I will now use the term “website creator” or “business owner” in that place. I just feel like “blog” doesn’t conjure up images of how much work it takes to get a business off the ground.
What is Making Cents of Affiliate Marketing?
Making Cents of Affiliate Marketing provides a general overview of how to make money by contacting other companies and promoting their products – only if you believe in them that is!
When I first started this website in 2017, I started to research how big “bloggers” make hundreds of thousands of dollars each month I started to see that word again: Affiliate.
Finally, this guy who sold products that were helpful to me linked to this course in an article. Once he recommended this course I knew it was something I had to buy.
Who created Making Cents of Affiliate Marketing?
Michelle Shroeder-Gardner created the course. She runs a popular finance blog and good on her for creating such a sellout. One interesting fact is that the course has not been promoted through methods such as guest posts or webinars. It seems like all the sales are from referrals or the advertisement on her website.
it’s the only affiliate marketing course I’ve taken and to me, the high sales appeared to be a good sign.
Let’s look at the facts: In June 2018 (An apparent slow time in the blogging world) her course made $19,004.00. The very next month she earned $24,947.00.
Additionally, her story has been featured in The Huffington Post, Forbes, Business Insider, and U.S. News Money.
She used to work as an investment analyst (I also worked in investment banking for a short time, totally cutthroat..)
The price for this course is nothing out of the ordinary at a one-time payment of $197 or a payment plan at $105.
I chose the payment plan even though it comes out to be $13 dollars more. An increase in price for monthly payments is a pretty smart way to make money.
Benefits and Limitations:
The course’s goal is to provide an overview of affiliate marketing. And you can bet that it does make good on its promise.
One thing to note, with Making Cents of Affiliate Marketing, you will get a general overview of affiliate marketing. This course won’t do the work for you after you’ve completed it.
The course will point you in the direction to go but you need to reach out to people. You need to put in the time to refine your strategy and see what earns you money. You’ll also need to find more resources to implement your strategy.
Here are some things you can learn:
- Learn how to make money from affiliate sales and how Michelle went from $0 per month to $50,000 a month from affiliate sales
- Learn why people buy and how to use trust and authentic selling to increase sales
- Learn from an expert how to “always get your affiliate application approved”
- Learn a good lesson from Michelle’s editor that will make you think twice before posting content
I finished the course in about 3-5 days. I started to implement what I learned in the course, and surprisingly it wasn’t as hard to get accepted into the programs as I thought.
I need to work on refining my strategy to actually earn money.
It’s been about 2 weeks since I bought the course and so I haven’t made any money yet. When I do make money I will update the results on this post.
I will say the course has been a bit like a puzzle piece for me. I am more confident that I can earn a living running my website. I just have to put in the time and energy into my affiliate strategy.
Every day I write “work on affiliate marketing strategy” on my to-do list.
Additionally, I do refer back to the course when I need to understand an aspect of reaching out to affiliates.
Bottom line: I recommend this course as a tool for new business owners.
I care so much about what is the right thing to do. And I try not to exhibit negative traits and I don’t want to lead people astray. I’d rather be an uplifting and positive force. So, while this course isn’t going to be so comprehensive. And it’s not going to physically put money in your hand. It is worth buying because it can lead you down a path that enables you to make money.
Affiliate Marketing is one way “bloggers” make money. Did you know this?
